Self-Portrait
An experimental short animation focusing on the self-portrait as a form for exploring a moving state of attention, a presence with the subject. Certain aspects of the face are referenced while others fade away gestures searching for the form both consciously and unconsciously.
Studio Window
Outside my studio window lies a swoop of branches, flowers and undergrowth. I'll often draw this foliage, not as representations but as a structure that is moved by the wind, changed by the light, a representation of continual change. I have taken a selection of these drawings and turned them into a short animation.
Guitar
Not only does playing the acoustic guitar gives me a great deal of pleasure and help me to unwind but it also makes for a useful motif that captures an essence of movement. Though the guitar only features 12 notes, the possibilities contained within it are infinite. Music moves us both psychologically and physiologically by transporting us to somewhere else and I have decided to create this short animation as a reflection on those ideas.
